Celebrating 50 Years of Service: FTHRA’s Golden Anniversary

The First Tennessee Human Resource Agency (FTHRA) proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary with an inspiring and memorable event, bringing together staff, community members, former employees, clients, and supporters to commemorate five decades of dedicated service to Northeast Tennessee. The celebration, held on July 26, 2024, was a success, reflecting the spirit and commitment of the FTHRA community.

Event Highlights

10:30 AM - Ceremony The ceremony began with opening comments, setting the tone for a day filled with gratitude and reflection. Board Chair Jerry Jordan initiated the event with a welcome and followed with an opening prayer. Meanwhile, Mayor Pat Shull, a local veteran, took the lead on the Pledge of Allegiance.

Proclamations and Remarks A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of two proclamations—one from the local government and another from the state government—recognizing FTHRA’s remarkable contributions over the past 50 years. Mayor Todd Fowler and Senator Rusty Crowe presented the proclamations, which are formal declarations by government officials that honor significant achievements and milestones within the community.

The proclamations praised FTHRA for its extensive service, including delivering social services across eight counties, supporting seniors' independence, providing nutritious meals, and offering various support programs. The proclamations also acknowledged FTHRA's impact through programs such as Meals on Wheels, NetTrans, and the Foster Grandparents program.

Executive Director Jason Cody then delivered the anniversary remarks, reflecting on the agency's history and envisioning its future. His closing comments expressed gratitude to all attendees for their unwavering support over the years.

11:00 AM - Reception Following the ceremony, attendees enjoyed a reception featuring photo stations, tours of the building, and light refreshments. The event provided an excellent opportunity for guests to socialize, reminisce, and celebrate the agency's achievements.
