FTHRA’s Solar Eclipse Fundraiser: A Bright Day of Community Unity

FTHRA recently organized a special fundraiser to support both Adult Day Services and Personal Support Services, two vital programs serving our community. The fundraiser revolved around the highly anticipated solar eclipse, offering certified solar glasses for viewing the celestial event.

With the support of our generous community, FTHRA sold solar glasses certified by the American Astrological Society in preparation for the solar eclipse on April 8th. Excitement buzzed as employees and community members eagerly anticipated the rare celestial phenomenon.

Despite cloudy and rainy weather on the day of the eclipse, hope persisted as FTHRA set up a snack table for those who purchased glasses. Although Johnson City, TN, was not in the path of totality, anticipation remained high for the projected 87% coverage.

As the peak of the eclipse approached at 3:10 p.m., unfortunately, the thick cloud cover obstructed the view. Disappointed but undeterred, a large group of FTHRA employees gathered outdoors, embracing the spirit of community and togetherness.

Despite the eclipse being obscured by clouds, the day was far from dim. Employees from various departments came together, sharing laughs, stories, and snacks. The event was a testament to the unity and camaraderie that define our workplace culture at FTHRA.

While the eclipse may have eluded our sight, the sense of community and the funds raised for our programs shone brightly. FTHRA's Solar Eclipse Fundraiser was not just about celestial wonders but about coming together to support our community and make a positive impact.
